Marcela Mulholland
Director of Advocacy and Public Affairs

Marcela is the Director of Advocacy and Public Affairs at Clean Tomorrow, where she drives policy change through research, analysis, and strategic engagement with policymakers across the climate innovation landscape. Formerly Deputy Director of Partnerships at the Carbon Removal Alliance, she worked directly with the nation’s leading carbon removal companies to develop public policy solutions for barriers to commercialization. Marcela previously led stakeholder engagement for the Regional Direct Air Capture Hubs and Long Duration Energy Storage programs at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations (OCED). Prior to that she was Political Director at Data for Progress, a progressive think-tank and polling firm, where she led efforts to incorporate public opinion analysis into policy development. She specializes in communicating climate technology and policy to a wide range of audiences including policymakers, philanthropists, and impacted communities. She has also worked as a climate policy analyst for The Century Foundation and interned for the NAACP’s Environmental and Climate Justice Program and the Sunrise Movement.
Marcela is a South Florida native and holds a B.A. in Political Science and Sustainability Studies from the University of Florida. In 2024, she was named to GreenBiz’s 30 Under 30 list. She’s based in Brooklyn, NY. Find her on LinkedIn.
